Everyone's heard the song
the church is not a steeple;
the church is a people.
But what happens when the people fail you? Would you rather be in a stone building where you find peace or among people you find unrest? To be honest, I'd prefer the former.
We are human, people fail us, people fail themselves. But God's given us grace and He tells us to do the same.
"But love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to them without expecting to get anything back. Then your reward will be great, and you will be children of the Most High, because he is kind to the ungrateful and wicked. Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful"(Luke 6:35-36 NIV)
A building can't fail you but people can. And that's why we have grace.
