Love is an Action

I've had a boyfriend for a while now, and we're planning our wedding. And with a wedding comes the pressures of everything else as well. I won't disagree that on some level, it's taken a strain on our relationship. And this post is about how you rise to a place of love from every situation.

I read this verse, Let us stop just saying we love each other; let us really show it by our actions." (1 John 3:18 NLT) And it hit me, I instantly stopped saying I love you and waited on him to show it through his actions. I found it difficult and only put myself through more pain without him even realising it.

That's where I was wrong, I took it for its literal translation. But Jesus tells us, true love is patient, not arrogant or boastful, love bears all things, love is eternal. So whether you say it or not, remind yourself of how Jesus commands us to love, an UNCONDITIONAL love.

If love were just an emotion, then God couldn't command it. But love is something you do. It can produce emotion, but love is an action.
