God lives within you.
Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith; test yourselves. Do you not realize that Christ Jesus is in you. (2 Corinthians 13:3 NIV)
Churches can aid your relationship with God, but as long as you understand that God is within your and He is mighty church issues shouldn't matter. If He is in you He works through you, so He will guide you. Listen to His voice, He speaks to your heart.
